Caleb's birthday!

Caleb's third birthday was Saturday. I cannot believe that he is already three years old--boy, how time flies. Since I made him the train cake last year, I decided to attempt to make him a truck cake this year. It turned out pretty good, but I was getting really frustrated because of all these difficulties I was having--my cake was lopsided, then my second batch of frosting was too thin and I did not have anymore powdered sugar and I did not have the time to run to the store, but the finished product was not too bad. Besides, Caleb could tell that it was a truck and that was exciting to him, so that is really all that mattered. I do also enjoy making cakes, so by making them, I will hopefully only get better!

Caleb opening his presents. He got lots of toys!

The front of the truck (I know, front lights are not red, but it added a little more color).

A side view of the cake. I was having a really difficult time finding the things I wanted to use to decorate the cake. There is this neat kitchen store that I wanted to go to look for some stuff, but it is in town and there was just not any time--oh well, next time!

Caleb blowing out the candle. He liked doing that so much, he wanted to keep blowing it out--I think that we re-lit the candle three or four times for him.

Prince Caleb.
I was trying to find a birthday hat, but could not find any, so I got him a crown instead!
